Permit Information and Forms

The Building Inspection Division is responsible for the plan review, permitting and inspection of all construction activity, sign permits, and the interpretation and development of code requirements relating to building, housing and landscape improvements.

The division staff reviews and inspects all landscaping to new single family units, commercial and multi-family projects and encourages water conservation, the preservation of trees and coastal vegetation. The staff provides technical assistance to the Planning and Zoning Division for review of development applications.

Permit Applications & Forms

Listed below are applications, forms and checklists that you can download from this site. You can fill these out ahead of time and simplify your application process. The checklists, calculation tables and requirements provide further information on what you need to submit with your application.

All permits will require signed contracts with two signatures. Signatures must include owner OR tenant AND contractor of record OR design professional of record.

Four sets of plans will be needed if submitting to the Town of Gulf Stream.

Business Tax Receipt Applications

What is a Business Tax Receipt?
A business tax receipt is a tax levied upon all businesses within the municipal boundaries. Payment of the tax receipt does not certify or imply the competence of the licensee. Within Florida, most cities and counties have a business tax receipt.

Do You Need a Business Tax Receipt?

If you engage or manage any business, profession, or perform any business within our City limits, you need to purchase a tax receipt. If your business has more than one location, a separate tax receipt is required for each location. A separate tax receipt is issued for each use performed within your business.

Getting Started
Effective Monday, October 23, 2017, you may apply for a Business Tax Receipt between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, in the Community Improvement Department of City Hall, located at 100 NW 1st Ave., Delray Beach, FL 33444. Our phone number is (561) 243-7203, Ext. 6206. A secured drop-off box is located next to the window for your convenience.
